Q. My child has an ADHD/ASD diagnosis, can they attend your sessions?

A. We aim to make our classes inclusive to all and welcome children with ADHD/ASD, however we do not provide 1:1 support in our regular classes. Staff ratios are 1:8. If you have concerns about your child taking part please get in touch to discuss their needs. Where possible we will make adaptions that will help to ensure your child is settled in our sesssions. If you think your child needs 1:1 support you may be interested in our Build-Up programme which can be scheduled by a gorup of parents or a community group. This class is for children and their parents/carers. You can read more here

Q. My child is 4 but they have been building LEGO since they were 3 and can do sets of ages 7+ can they not join Bricks Challenge?

A. Our classes are educational, we are not a building club, therefore LEGO building ability is not the deciding factor when selecting a class. Children in Bricks Challenge need and understanding of simple maths, additiona, subtraction  and multiplication. They need a level of spatial understanding that allows them to discuss the technical elements of the model. It is because of this that we do not allow children who are in nursery or P1 to attend Bricks Challenge.

A. Yes. If positions are available, we can offer a trial class for your child. If your child is happy to continue after trying a class, you can then proceed with booking to the remainder of the term. Please call Young Engineers at 07476 716386 or email office@young-engineers.co.uk with details of your name, your child’s name and the session they will miss.
