Young Engineers offers one off workshops and structured weekly programs to support your school. Our LEGO® based programmes mix education and play to give children an inspiring learning experience. All our lesson plans are written by a GTCS registered primary teacher and are matched to the Curriculum for Excellence Experience & Outcomes
Schools & Colleges |
We currently run weekly classes in the following schools: -George Heriots -Bruntsfield Primary School -St Peter’s Primary School -St Ninian’s RC Primary School -Bellsquarry Primary School We also frequently run sessions in schools across Edinburgh through our partnership with SKANSKA. We are also running various workshops in high schools with Fife College. |
Transition Programs |
Our transition programs are available to support your school’s nursery to P1 transition program or your cluster’s P7 to S1 program. We also offer specialised transition programmes for learners with additional support needs to help familiarise them with new environments. Recognising that the best transition programs are tailored to the context and setting of each group of learners, we will work collaboratively with you to create a custom set of experiences that support your school. |
STEM Workshops |
Are you looking for an awesome workshop to support a careers day or STEM day? Young Engineers can provide problem solving based activities for upto 200 learners in a single day. |
Breakfast & Afterschool Clubs |
We can deliver your school’s breakfast or afterschool program. All sessions are educational but allow playtime, relaxation and fun before or after school. |
STEM for Learning Life & Work |
While all our sessions include critical thinking and problem solving, we also offer a series of sessions which aim to replicate work place team working, simple project management, leadership and presentation skills all to offer learners a chance to see how their classroom learning applies to real-world situations.
We ran a programme with a group of S3 girls before they made their S4 subject choices. As a result of this course all of them chose 2 or more STEM subjects. |
