Young Engineers Edinburgh & West Lothian is hiring!
We now interact with nearly 400 children a week. We are looking for a class teachers and assistants who can share our passion for STEM with our students.
Our regular classes predominately run from 3pm to 7pm weekday evenings and all weekend.
Hours can be flexible with a minimum of 4 hours per week upto a maximum of 26 dependant on the candidate and needs of the business.

Job Description
The teacher is responsible for arriving at the venue and setting up the classroom, often this includes setting up tables and chairs, as well as laying out equipment.
The Class Teacher has the following responsibilities
- Lead the class and be responsible for all equipment, class administration and safety
- Lead games and activities in line with agreed lesson plans
- Provide technical explanations (in line with primary school curriculum) of science and technology concepts indicated by the model
- Help the children build the models
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications
- Experience working with children (paid, voluntary, family)
- Own transport and ability to lift boxes, setup tables etc
Desirable Skills/Qualifications
- PVG cleared, child first aid qualified
- Technical background in Maths, Science or Engineering. This can include people working in education or those from a corporate background in technical industries
Person Profile
- Confident, outgoing and articulate, comfortable speaking to parents and building relationships with schools and other stakeholders
- Organised and able to think on your feet, dealing with any problems as they arise

The assistant will support the teacher in the class. This involves
- Meeting & greeting children
- Helping children build their models
- Help children during games and activities to support the learning
